Operations Specialist

Reports to: Director of Operations, BC Region

Location: Prince George, BC

We are currently seeking an Operations Specialist to join our Operations team and provide hands-on support to our bakeries in the Prince George region.

As an Operations Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting our franchisees with the day-to-day operations of their bakeries. You'll act as a trusted partner and problem-solver — providing guidance, training, and operational expertise to help each bakery reach its full potential.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, enjoys working closely with business owners, and is passionate about driving operational excellence and franchisee success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Franchisees to troubleshoot and resolve bakery-level operational issues (e.g., staffing, production, quality, or equipment).
  • Provide in-bakery support, training, and coaching to improve sales, profitability, and customer experience.
  • Conduct regular bakery visits to assess operational performance, merchandising, and compliance with company standards.
  • Support Area Manager and Regional Operations Director in implementing business strategies and regional initiatives.
  • Monitor bakery KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend practical action plans.
  • Assist with pre-opening training and support for new bakeries in the region.
  • Collaborate with Support Office and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution across the network.
  • Participate in quarterly business reviews and regional meetings.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Post-secondary education in business, retail, hospitality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in retail, hospitality, or food service operations; bakery or restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and provide practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with franchisees and bakery teams.
  • Proven ability to drive performance and uphold operational standards.
  • Understanding of food safety, OH&S, and retail operations best practices.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and self-motivated.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel occasionally within the region.

What's in it for You:

  • Competitive salary and vacation plan
  • Both individualized and a company-wide bonus plans
  • A great Extended Health & Dental Benefit, Group RRSP Matching and Health Spending Account
  • Paid sick and personal leave days
  • An open, 'continuous-learning' environment where professional development and career progression is encouraged
  • Work within a dynamic, driven, high-achieving, close-knit and fun-loving team
  • High level of autonomy and responsibility
