Bookkeeper - Part Time

We require a part-time, full-charge bookkeeper for a multi-corporation business. Other administrative functions are also required.
Hours can be reasonably flexible during Monday to Friday day-time hours, but should be approximately 30 hours per week. Please note that you will be required to work in the office and not remotely.
Solid bookkeeping skills are required, but training will be provided as necessary for Sage BusinessVision software and company-specific functions and routines. Starting wage will be based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities:
- All bookkeeping functions for multiple companies: GL, AR, AP, Payroll, Group Insurance, Job Costing, inter-company transactions, year-end adjusting entries.
- Government remittances including: payroll source deductions, GST, PST, EHT, WorkSafeBC.
- Preparation of ROE's and T4's.
- Financial summaries and analyses.
- Maintenance of capital asset purchases, sales, maintenance records and listings.
- Provide year-end documentation to outside accountants; liaise with legal firm regarding annual report filings; year-end archiving of files and setting up files for the new year.
- Assist with quoting for government projects: typing proposals, preparing spreadsheets, obtaining insurance quotes and documents, electronic and hard-copy filing.
- General office functions such as answering phones, ordering supplies, and banking.
- Other duties as required.
Skills:
- Proficiency in using accounting software (we use Sage BusinessVision, but will train)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Proficiency in on-line banking
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently
