Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior Database Administrator (Oracle GoldenGate / Azure / PostgreSQL) who can take ownership of production environments, resolve incidents, and ensure the highest levels of database integrity and performance. The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of cloud technologies, automation, and database optimization while driving operational excellence across mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical resolutions for production incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Communicate complex technical issues clearly to stakeholders and Lines of Business partners.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards for change control and database security.
  • Analyze recurring incidents to identify service improvements and performance optimization opportunities.
  • Provide on-call rotational support and participate in incident and change management activities.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) and Service Continuity Management (SCM) exercises.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and post-mortems for critical incidents.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases.
  • Optimize database performance through indexing, tuning, and query analysis.
  • Implement security best practices, including encryption, auditing, and access controls.
  • Deploy and manage native security features like TDE, Database Vault, Data Redaction, and Always Encrypted.
  • Design and support RAC, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
  • Automate database monitoring, alerting, and maintenance tasks for proactive management.

Desired Skill Set:

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in Oracle GoldenGate or Azure Cloud database administration.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with PostgreSQL in enterprise settings.
  • Strong experience with installation, configuration, and tuning of database products.
  • Proven expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Cloud migration experience, particularly in hybrid or Azure environments.
  • Strong understanding of backup, restore, and recovery processes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing systems.
  • Experience using SolarWinds for database performance monitoring.
  • Azure Certification or equivalent cloud credential.
  • Prior financial industry (FI) or large enterprise experience
