Vistamere Retirement Residence is nestled in a quiet neighbourhood in picturesque south Oakville. Independently owned senior living residence. We are known for our service quality, and the family atmosphere created by our team of dedicated senior specialists.

Vistamere is currently seeking Part Time Waitstaff to join our Dietary Team The ideal candidate will also have effective communication skills, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Weekend and evening availability is a must. Prior serving experience is an asset but we also provide training. Students welcome.

Key Responsibilities: ·

  • To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required; ·
  • To assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service as required; ·
  • To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
  • To assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events; ·
  • To assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees; ·
  • To follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures; ·
  • To comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures; ·
  • To be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavour to respect and promote it; ·
  • To attend in-service training as required in order to better serve the needs of the residents; ·
  • To attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in the Residence that have taken place.

Responsibilities to Health and Safety:

  1. Is aware of employees' responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures as set out in departmental manuals.

  2. Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers and residents.

  3. Is alert to and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations to immediate supervisor. Does not operate or use faulty equipment.

  4. Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, M.S.D.S. or facility policy.

  5. Promptly reports personal injury to supervisor and seeks first aid as needed.

6. Participates in fire safety demonstrations and fire drills, and knows the facility fire and disaster plan.
