Job Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a vital role in the finance department, responsible for supporting various accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. As the Staff Accountant you will be involved in …

  • Assist with month-end closings including account analyses, account reconciliations (intercompany intangibles and other receivables) and preparation of key continuity schedules;

  • Assist with the preparation of financial reporting packages including variance analysis

  • Support the preparation of monthly consolidated results, quarterly & annual external financial statement(s) (including note disclosures) and Management's Discussion & Analysis ("MD&A");

  • Prepare journal entries as necessary;

  • Assist with quarterly reviews and year-end audits;

  • Provide cross functional assistance to other teams to support new and ongoing business initiatives;
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement on current processes and help implement recommendations;

  • Ensure internal controls for responsible areas are performed in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley ("SOX");

  • Perform other ad hoc duties as needed.

Accountabilities:

  • Accurate and up-to-date financial records and reconciliations.
  • Timely support and completion of assigned accounting tasks.
  • Compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and financial discipline across global teams.

  • A diploma or degree in accounting, business, or equivalent
  • 4+ years experience of relevant accounting experience
  • Public company accounting experience is preferred
  • Experience in account reconciliations, preferably in settings with multiple entities across different currencies
  • Process-oriented
  • Effective time-management and prioritization skills in a deadline-driven environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Attention to detail with an analytical mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound business acumen

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
