As part of TD Insurance, the Data, Analysis, and Insight (DAI) group supports internal business partners by providing valuable insights and analyses.
Within DAI, the Claims Insights team is a trusted partner to executive, operational, and actuarial stakeholders such as Claims Operations, Pricing, Corporate Actuarial, Product, Vendor Management, and others. The team combines talent from actuaries, business intelligence analysts, and data specialists to provide business-specific insights and analytics to our partners helping guide decision-making. Relied on to investigate emerging claims trends, the Claims Insights team generates KPI monitoring, in-depth analyses, as well as actionable recommendations to partners supporting frequency, severity and expense management.
The Actuarial Analyst III will explore all aspects of claims data and claims processes with the opportunity to collaborate with key partners across the organization. You will be instrumental in the delivery of key strategic priorities with regular opportunities to present analyses and reporting broadly to partners and executives.
Under the supervision of the Manager, Claims Insights the actuarial analyst III will be involved in the following key activities:
- Develop and improve analytic tools and methods to support insight generation.
- Identify issues proactively, emerging trends and opportunities arising from analysis and insights.
- Perform deep-dive analyses on claims results and communicate the results effectively.
- Contribute to the timely delivery and presentation of regular reporting and analysis on claims frequency, severity, and expense results to partners and executives across the organization.
- Oversee end-to-end analyses and insights solutions over a range of complexity, from the initial demand to the delivery of reporting or analysis and presentation of results.
- Apply an effective and collaborative approach to stakeholder management. Build and nurture positive working relationships with key partners and executives as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Actuarial Science
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and progress towards ACAS designation
- Experience in General Insurance
- Strong programming skills (SQL, Python, R).
- Highly developed problem-solving and analysis skills with consistent rigor in quality of work.
- Uses innovation and creativity to improve work efficiency and results.
- Effective in managing multiple priorities with strong organization and time management skills
- Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners and external stakeholders;
