About us

The Brantford and District Supervised Access Centre offers safe, neutral, child-focused services including supervised visits, exchanges and support for families.

Responsibilities

  • Preference for applications who are available every Sunday (Centre is closed on long weekends).
  • Supervise visits according to Court Orders or other relevant agreements to hold clients accountable for the welfare of their child(ren)
  • Document supervised visits as required by The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, Province of Ontario and the procedures of Dalhousie Place Supervised Access Centre.
  • Relay information between the child(ren)'s parents relevant to the child's welfare at the commencement and conclusion of the supervised visit (e.g. medication, diet etc.,) in written and verbal form
  • Intervene when appropriate to ensure the safety and welfare of the child
  • Fixed schedule of every Friday (evening) and every Sunday. (Please note: we are closed for all long weekends).
  • Travel between Brantford & Simcoe offices is required. Must have a reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary studies (Human Services) is preferred.
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance
  • Be empathetic and willing to adhere to the mission statement, philosophies, policies and procedures of Dalhousie Place
  • Be willing to be trained in all aspects of responsibility of the position, including on-going professional development
  • Completion of trainings as directed by Supervisor including; AODA, Observation & Documentation, Child refusal, IPV and any other as directed
  • An awareness of the necessity of confidentiality in dealing with all aspects of the organization.
  • Ability to clearly and accurately communicate factual information/data, including observing and recording subtle details of human interactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
