Yester Years Ranching is searching for candidates for a full-time permanent farm equipment operator. Yester Years Ranching is a family owned, mixed farming operation consisting of cow/calf herd, feedlot, and irrigation farming. This position will be responsible for assisting with farming operations during the summer months and operating feedlot equipment during the winter months.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with prepping fields for farming including but not limited to cultivating, harrowing, seeding, and spraying
  • Assist with operation and maintenance of irrigation pivots, pumps, and infrastructure
  • Maintenance and repairs of farm equipment
  • Operate tractor, air drills, sprayer, combine, loader, skid steer
  • Other farm duties as assigned

Skills Required

  • Farming experience: all aspects of farming from seeding to harvest is an asset
  • Irrigation experience: knowledge of operating and maintaining irrigation infrastructure is an asset
  • Operating farm equipment and heavy equipment
  • Mechanic experience is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license – Class 1 is not required
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, able to complete jobs with limited or no supervision
  • Experience working in agriculture industry is required

Job Details

  • Ability to work weekends, early mornings, and seasonally long hours when required
  • Hourly wage dependent on experience – pay is biweekly
