Caracal Technologies Inc., the subsidiary of VenTek International, is an R&D firm developing embedded products, mobile applications and cloud-based solutions for unattended payment systems. We have a small, close-knit team that has fun using many technologies to solve our customers' unique needs. We are growing, and are looking for a Software Test Engineer (Embedded, Mobile, Web Apps) to help us with developing and releasing quality software and hardware products.Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in QA testing, with practical skills in both hardware and software systems.Responsibilitiesinclude 5 main streams:Define and maintain the software Quality Control process and procedures;Execute testing for multiple projects, including WebApps, APIs,, and back-end data processing;Automate testing where it is possible;Software deployment from Dev -> QA -> Production;Collaborate on CI/CD implementation and DevOps approach;General tasksParticipate in web applications development, integration and deploymentReviewing and analyzing software requirements;Creating and executing test plans and test cases;Identifying, documenting, and reporting software defects;Collaborating with developers and system administrators to resolve issues;Ensuring that the final product meets the established quality standards;Manage the releases and deployment of the products within various environmentsPromote and comply with software security standardsTools and SkillsA bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of software development methodologies and processesFamiliarity with various testing tools and techniquesExcellent communication and collaboration skillsSoftware development experienceAWS experience is an assetWe're located near Broadway and Oak in Vancouver, near major transit connections and good variety of restaurants nearby.
