Do you love connecting with people? Are you fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and looking for meaningful work that truly makes a difference?
Calgary Progressive Lifestyles Foundation (CPLF) is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Worker to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you'll use your ASL skills to support an adult in their daily life — empowering them to live more independently and actively in the community.
This is more than just a job — it's an opportunity to build real relationships, encourage growth, and help create joyful, fulfilling experiences.
What You'll Be Doing
- Spending quality time with an adult with a disability, and supporting her personal growth.
- Encouraging involvement in recreational and social activities — think swimming, yoga, movies, crafts and more
- Promoting independence, confidence, and community engagement.
- Making a lasting impact on someone's life, every day you show up.
Schedule
- Flexible (8 days a month)
- In-person in Calgary
- Contract position

CPLF is a registered charitable organization supporting people with disabilities at work, at home, and in the community since 1989. Our mission is to support individuals engage with their community where individuals with disabilities achieve independence, fulfillment, and autonomy.
You're Our Ideal Match If:
- You're fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) — that's a must.
- You're compassionate, patient, and bring great energy to your work.
- You're open to learning and genuinely enjoy supporting others.
- You have a reliable vehicle and a valid Class 5 driver's license – $2 million third-party vehicle liability insurance
- You have (or are willing to get within 3 months) CPR & First Aid – Level C.
- Willing to get General Commercial Liability Insurance upon being hired.
- Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the last 2 years).
- Experience in the field? That's a big plus
