Job Title: Server/Supervisor (Hybrid Role)

Compensation:

• Serving Rate: $17.60 per hour
• Supervising Rate: $20.00 per hour
• Note: Rate is adjusted based on the duties performed during the scheduled shift.

Role Summary

The Server/Supervisor is a crucial role that combines the direct responsibility of providing high-quality table service with the leadership duties of an on-shift supervisor. This role acts as a key link between the management team and the floor staff, ensuring smooth operations, high service standards, and a positive dining experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

I. Server Duties (Primary Focus)

• Guest Service: Welcome, seat, and provide exceptional food and beverage service to guests, including making recommendations and addressing inquiries.
• Order Management: Accurately take and input food and drink orders using the POS system.
• Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and beverage offerings.
• Table Maintenance: Ensure tables are properly set, cleaned, and turned over efficiently.
• Cash Handling: Accurately process payments (cash, credit/debit) and manage a float.

II. Supervisor Duties (As Assigned/Scheduled)

• Shift Leadership: Oversee daily shift operations, ensuring all FOH staff are performing duties efficiently and adhering to company standards.
• Problem Resolution: Act as the first point of contact for resolving guest complaints, staff issues, and operational bottlenecks, escalating to management when necessary.
• Staff Support: Assist with training new staff members, providing coaching, and ensuring proper side work and closing procedures are completed.
• Quality Control: Monitor the dining room and service areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation meet Crowsfoot's standards.
• Opening/Closing: Conduct thorough opening and closing checks, including balancing registers, securing the premises, and completing necessary shift reports.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant environment. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly preferred.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team and interact positively with guests.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to motivate staff, manage conflict, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Work Ethic: Must be reliable, punctual, and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with POS systems and basic cash handling procedures.
• Certifications: Valid Safe Food Handling and Smart Serve (or equivalent provincial liquor service) certification is required.
