SCHEDULE: 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, including occasional weekend & 1 afternoon shift / week that is 12pm-8pm. Participates in monthly back up rotation

COMPENSATION: $75,000 - $85,000 including benefits

JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Program Director, the Manager of Health & Education will provide supervision to The Concurrent Specialized Youth Hub, Housing Team and clinical oversight to all Wyndham House programs and services. The Manager of Health & Education will support and practice the evidence-based service model developed by our agency, in addition to providing leadership in terms of support and advocacy for youth in our services. Responsibility for the daily operation and clinical supervision of Youth Workers located at the CSY-Hub, whose purpose is to meet the housing, treatment and recovery needs of youth aged 12-25 with a serious mental illness and substance abuse issues. The CSY-Hub is a low-barrier hub model that provides complex mental health and substance-related treatment to young people and creates a space accessible to youth and their clinical care providers.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic and passionate leader, with excellent assessment and system navigation skills. They will provide high-quality clinical oversight to programs and services and support the agency vision of ending youth homelessness in Guelph-Wellington.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

STAFF SUPERVISION:

  • Provide direct supervision and support with case management to 10-15 employees, including Clinicians, Housing Workers, RPN and other clinical staff
  • Co-supervise and support psychiatry and specialized clinical assessments
  • Provide regular case consultation to the Housing Stability and Clinical Team
  • Work collaboratively with internal staff and community partners to improve effectiveness and deliver high quality service to youth presenting with complexity
  • Provide crisis intervention support and follow-up and Critical Incident Debriefing to staff as needed
  • Responsible for professional program report requirements and record keeping for staff/resident interactions
  • Annual performance appraisals of permanent case management staff
  • Identify staff training needs and participate in annual training schedule

PROGRAM OVERSIGHT AND SUPPORT:

  • Review and oversee the implementation of client treatment plans and support in Transitional Housing and New Way Classroom.
  • Support New Way weekly with classroom, partnership and clinical decisions
  • Manage and oversee the Concurrent Specialized Youth Hub Program
  • Provide direct support to staff in managing challenging cases in all programs
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation and reporting as required by various funders
  • Responsible for intake, assessment and referral process of new residents
  • Provide on-site leadership and presence in day-to-day operations, to include days, evenings and weekends
  • Support Maintenance duties at all program sites
  • Support with light scheduling duties of the 24/7 program schedule

COMMUNITY COLLABORATION:

  • Oversee clinical interventions for Bellevue and Suffolk programs, including individual and group DBT interventions, and ongoing interventions and case consultations with front-line staff
  • Conduct community-level planning meetings and consult with community partners around collaborative case management strategies and shared interventions

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master of Social Work (MSW) or related degree/experience such as, Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Psychiatric Nurse or other Equivalent training/experience
  • 3 years' experience working with vulnerable population in a community setting is an asset. Experience working with at-risk youth is preferred
  • 3 years' experience providing clinical support and direction to employees and at-risk populations
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in non-profit or government-based program management, administration and employee supervision
  • Clinical case management experience
  • Academic knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Youth Criminal Justice Act, Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Plan, and the Child and Family Service Act as they pertain to work with high-risk youth and homelessness
  • Experience with assessment and treatment of urban homeless populations with serious mental illness, substance addiction and complex health conditions
  • Demonstrated crisis management, conflict resolution, problem solving and priority-setting abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to support employees through challenging situations and provide effective feedback, coaching and clinical supervision
  • Clinical training modalities that are relevant to the position including but not limited to training Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Motivational Interviewing
  • Experience conducting therapy in a clinical setting is considered an asset

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Ontario Driver's license and full-time use of a reliable vehicle
  • Access to a vehicle and 2-million-dollar liability insurance
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers in Good Standing
