What's involved?

  • Full-time Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 5:00pm; weekends during peak season as required

Major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Transport earthworks material to various construction sites around the GTA.
  • Comply with legislation related to safe vehicle operation, cargo securement, hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions.
  • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on vehicles and inspect loads frequently to ensure that cargo is secure.
  • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle inspections, service and repair status, following applicable federal and provincial regulations.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, and vehicle damage to supervision.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or washer fluid or performing minor repairs.

What's required?

  • At least 9 years' driving experience transporting materials and aggregates between construction sites
  • Valid AZ or DZ Ontario driver's licence, clean Driver Record and CVOR Abstract
  • Punctual, responsible, follows direction, willing to help
  • Experience with Kenworth and Mack trucks an asset
