Transportation Engineering Co-op Student

Role description:

Our Waterloo office is looking for a Transportation Engineering Co-op student to join their team. Arcadis provides a broad range of transportation-related services, however our team focuses on Transportation Planning and road and highway design. In this role you will work on a variety of projects with a dynamic and growing team. This is a Co-op role for 4-8 months starting in January 2026.

Mobility

We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today's mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world's growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

Role accountabilities:

• Assist with major transit/transportation studies, environmental assessments, and master plans involving the need and justification for new transportation projects
• Alternatives analysis, demand forecasting, transportation system/network planning and operations, transportation master plans, and sustainable transportation
• Perform technical analysis and assist with report writing to support studies
• Involvement in traffic studies

Qualifications & Experience:

• Candidates must be enrolled in a Civil Engineering program
• Interest in a career in transportation engineering is an asset
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• AutoCAD or Microstation skills are an asset

The salary range for this position is $20-30/hour. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
