Position Summary
This position supports the Sales Team, and helps the Canada business achieve the budget, goals, and initiatives. Sales responsibilities include weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reporting and analysis, update budget and forecast files, generate price quotes, inside sales and customer service, local outside sales calls, and other tasks needed to maintain and grow the sales market. Logistics and Supply Chain duties involve requesting transportation rates, rate negotiations, solving logistics issues, and ensuring that customer demand is met in an optimal cost manner.

Leadership And Team
- Provide coaching, feedback, and access to the appropriate training

- Implement processes, systems, and new technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the business
Commercial Activities
- Monitor and potentially participate in municipal bids across Canada and the Pacific Northwest
- Establish and maintain the 3x3 relationship matrix for all major customers
- Seek opportunities for strengthening our partnerships to customers and other shareholders
- Participate in the development of the sales budget
- Provide monthly sales forecasts update
- Provide and/or oversee customer pricing, quotes, … as well as provide accurate and meaningful information to the
Pricing Council
- Negotiate best possible pricing and supply agreements for customers and for LNA
- Prepare weekly reports and other ad-hoc reporting
- Conduct analysis on volume and pricing trends
- Keep lime market database current and accurate
- Assist in the making of accurate sales budgets and forecasts
- Update the sales forecast with major changes and report any variance to budget/forecast
- Professionally assist customers with pricing and information requests
- Proactively work to solve customer issues and concerns. Request the participation of other internal resources as needed
Market Intelligence
- Keep fully abreast of your geographical market (volumes, pricing, product quality, market trends, technological evolutions affecting our customers businesses, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of competing products, competitors, market pricing, competitor customers
- Maintain an up-to-date list of potential customers targets in your area
Community Involvement / Association Memberships
- Lead the First Nations engagement and community strategy
- Maintain good relationships with external stakeholders and the applicable communities
- Perform duties as required in the Canadian Lime Institute (CLI)
Logistics
- Build and maintain relationship to regional major logistics companies
- Request transportation rates and solve transportation issues
- Be involved with negotiations for CN rail rates, truck rates, and stone barging/unloading
Supply Chain
- Ensure customer demand is met on an optimal cost basis
- Track plant, terminal, and railcar inventories to ensure on-time customer delivery
- Arrange purchases from other Lhoist plants, if needed
- Ensure team enters sales orders, arranges transportation, and does export documentation if needed Perform other duties as assigned:

- Knowledgeable of customer manufacturing processes

- Forward looking action-oriented team player that works well with cross functional groups
- Must be capable of working long & flexible hours with the ability to travel up to 50%
Physical Demands Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Must be physically able to perform work assigned
- Must be physically capable of accessing all customer plant locations
- Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a lime/mineral environment
- The employee could be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Lime/Mineral Particles
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting
- Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Mechanical or Chemical engineering, or equivalent work experience in the field is highly desired.
Preffered Education
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Marketing
Required Experience
- Minimum three (3) of commercial, business development, logistics, and supply chain management in mining, aggregates, lime, or cement industry
Preffered Experience
- Previous commercial leadership experience
