Position Details

Transportation and Infrastructure - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador

The primary function of this position is to function as Training Captain/Line Captain on NLGovernment owned King Air 350 Air Ambulance aircraft; assisting hospital personnel with boarding and deplaning patients; perform flight planning, pre-flight, flight and post flight duties in accordance with Government Procedures, the Government Operators Manual, the Government Sops, and the Canadian Aviation Regulations; making daily checks of pertinent weather, noteman flight information for flight planning purposes; monitoring the co-pilots performance, briefing and supervising co-pilot; briefing the co-pilot, other crew and passengers on intended operations; ensuring all necessary documents, logs and manuals pertaining to the operation of the aircraft are valid and on board; performs initial/recurrent flight crew training both in aircraft and simulator Aswell as ground instruction. Other related duties as required.

Screening Criteria

1.Minimum of 4500 hours total time, 2000 hours multi-engine Pilot in command time, 1000Hours King Air 350 experience

2.Possess a valid Airline Transport Pilot's license

3.Valid Category 1 Medical

4.Valid Group 1 Instrument Rating

5.Graduation from high school supplemented by the completion of a pilot training program from an approved Transport Canada flight training school

Assessment Criteria

1.Knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations (CARS)

2.Knowledge of Air Services Operations and Related Aircraft

3.Ability to effectively exchange information

4.Ability to make independent decisions and solve problems

5.Ability to assess and evaluate multiple issues and balance competing demands in a dynamic environment
