Position Description

Job Title: Quality Control Specialist

Department: Operations

Location: Cornwall, ON

Reports To: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt

Position Overview: The Quality Technician plays a key role in supporting the Cornwall Plant's commitment to safety and product excellence. This position is responsible for testing and approving raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, while ensuring all quality documentation is accurate and up to date. The technician will evaluate non-conforming materials, maintain calibration records, and prepare customer-facing documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COAs). Internal auditing and data analysis are also part of the role, along with maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Actively Participate in the Cornwall Plant Quality and Safety Programs.
  • Testing, approving and documenting test results for raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
  • Evaluating and dispositioning non-conforming material and communicating the actions taken.
  • Generating, issuing, maintaining and updating paperwork, quality standards and product data sheets.
  • Maintaining calibration records.
  • Inputting and analyzing data and test results.
  • Preparing COAs and other Quality documentation for customers.
  • Internal auditing as required.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Associate's degree in science, or a High School Diploma with previous laboratory experience.
  • Ability to use or learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and display a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas.
  • Excellent documentation skills and ability to record all observations, test results, and related incidents in the appropriate log or form.
