Quality Control Technician

Global Gourmet Foods is a division of Premium Brands Holdings Corporation (TSX: PBH) which owns a broad range of leading specialty food manufacturing and differentiated food distribution businesses with operations. Global Gourmet Foods is a federally registered food manufacturer who supplies premium kettle products to key accounts in both domestic and export markets.
We are seeking dynamic individuals to join our Quality Assurance department. Successful candidates will help ensure the facility complies with regulatory and food safety standards. On-the-job training will be provided.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Responsible for product label, product packaging integrity verification, daily forms completion and verification
- Conduct equipment visual inspection & corrective action request
- Perform Environmental & Product sampling and basic quality testing as per schedule
- Responsible for Monitoring activities, such as temperature, weight, employee hygiene practice, housekeeping practice, etc. according to the checklists and complete monitoring records. Report any non-compliance practices or products to QA Supervisor land take appropriate corrective actions
- Communicate with other departmental supervisors in a cooperative manner
- Conduct employee training on GMP, HACCP or as required
- Assist and participate in food safety documentation, internal auditing and investigation process for corrective and preventative actions
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be detail oriented, good visual inspection ability and reliable
- Experience in Quality Control activities or inspection activities in a processing environment is preferred not a must
- Knowledge of food safety and/or quality assurance program, previous experience in food manufacturing and/or food services is an asset
- Fluent in written and oral English. Knowledge of other languages such as Mandarin Chinese, would be an asset
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with all employees and contractors and to provide technical help when needed
