Position: Sales Manager/Event Planner
Reports To: Director of Sales & Marketing
Job Summary:
The Sales Manager/Event Planner is a pivotal member of the Sales and Marketing team at Hard Rock Hotel London Ontario, responsible for driving revenue growth through group and leisure market segments. This role combines strategic business development, exceptional client relationship management, and a passion for creating unforgettable experiences. Collaborating closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and other departments, the Sales Manager/Event Planner ensures seamless execution of sales strategies that embody the iconic Hard Rock brand. This role will work closely with various other departments within the Hotel to plan and orchestrate events for our clients.
Hours of Work: This is a full-time role with hours aligned to business needs, client demand, and events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities in the group and leisure market segments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry contacts to drive repeat business and referrals.
- Represent Hard Rock Hotel London at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities, showcasing the hotel's unique offerings.
Sales Strategy
- Develop and execute effective sales plans to achieve individual and team revenue targets.
- Monitor market trends, competition, and client needs to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Responsible for generating clients and sales within the Social, Military, Education, Religious, and Fraternal groups, as well as the Association industry, excluding clients at the discretion of the Director of Sales and Marketing, including but not limited to: Western University, Government Agencies, Business Travel (BT), and Entertainment.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to align sales efforts with overall hotel strategy.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned group and leisure accounts, providing exceptional service and maintaining regular communication.
- Conduct site inspections, presentations, and negotiations to secure bookings.
- Partner with the operations team to ensure client needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Event Coordination
- Oversee group and leisure bookings from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Coordinate event details with internal teams to guarantee flawless execution and guest satisfaction.
- Responsible for handling catering in the food and beverage outlets on property for social groups/events.
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and activity updates to leadership.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies as needed to achieve goals.
- Ensure accurate Weekly Action plans, to be up-to-date and proper inputs by the end of each work week.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
- Support and work alongside the Sales Coordinator, Sales Managers, the Director of Sales and Marketing, and other team members.
- Collaborate with marketing, revenue management, and operations to maximize revenue and deliver memorable guest experiences.
Brand Representation
- Uphold and promote the Hard Rock brand's image, culture, and standards in all interactions and materials.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in Hotel Sales and Event planning is considered an asset.
- Must be skilled in multitasking and managing multiple duties at one time.
