Job Summary

The Engineering Proposal Analyst (Co-op) will primarily work on updating specification documents for medium voltage metal-enclosed switchgear for S&C's power utility customers in Canada and US. This is a great opportunity to learn from experienced engineers who will provide all the necessary training to be successful during your work term.

Work Term: Winter 2026, 8 months term (Jan - Aug).

Work Term Arrangement: Hybrid, 4 days WFH.
 

Responsibilities

  • Develop basic electrical & mechanical design knowledge of metal-enclosed switchgear.
  • Review, with the support of experienced team members, power utility conditions of service documents for assigned territories to understand their individual service entrance requirements.
  • Prepare summary specification documents for the utilities & major customers which S&C serves.
  • Assist with reviewing and preparing proposal documents for medium voltage metal-enclosed switchgear.
  • Job-shadow engineering team members in multiple departments to gain an overview of the work process flow.
  • Perform additional duties to assist the engineering team as needed.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a registered post-secondary co-op program in Electrical Industrial Engineering.
  • Available for an 8 Month Co-op Work Term beginning in Winter 2026.
  • Knowledge of the basics of power system protection & control.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well within a team environment.
  • Fast-learner with an aptitude for learning company-specific software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft software, specifically Excel, Word and MS Project.
