Job Overview
We are seeking a driven and experienced Sales Representative with a strong background in B2B industrial or manufacturing sales. This role is not a quick-win, short-cycle sales job, it requires patience, persistence, and the ability to nurture relationships over multi-month evaluation cycles.
As a key member of our team, you will focus on expanding our customer base within the machining and manufacturing sector by building trust, understanding technical needs, and guiding prospects through a thorough qualification and onboarding process.
If you excel at long-term relationship building, strategic prospecting, and working within a high-value production environment, this is the perfect opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-cycle sales strategies to acquire new manufacturing clients, including CNC machining customers, buyers, engineers, production managers, and procurement teams.
- Identify prospects, qualify opportunities, and guide them through testing phases, sample orders, evaluation periods, and long-term production adoption.
- Manage and grow existing accounts through consistent communication, follow-ups, problem-solving, and exceptional service.
- Perform plant visits, capability discussions, and technical consultations to articulate how our machining services align with client needs.
- Generate leads through cold outreach, LinkedIn prospecting, industry events, referrals, and targeted campaigns.
- Utilize CRM software (Salesforce or equivalent) to maintain a structured pipeline, track activities, and analyze performance.
- Prepare quotes in collaboration with estimating and engineering teams and follow up through the decision cycle.
- Negotiate contracts, secure long-term partnerships, and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Collaborate with operations, production, and marketing to align client expectations with manufacturing capabilities.
- Monitor market trends in manufacturing, machining, tooling, and OEM supply chain behavior to identify new opportunities.
Experience & Qualifications
- Mandatory: Proven success in B2B sales with long sales cycles (machining sales cycles are often 3-12+ months).
- Preferred: Experience in manufacturing, CNC machining, fabrication, industrial supply, tooling, or related industries of at least 3-5 years.
- Strong understanding of technical selling, production processes, quoting cycles, and operational considerations.
- Previous experience in territory development and account management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, buyers, technicians, and leadership-level decision makers.
- Strong negotiation abilities with a consultative, relationship-focused approach to closing deals.
- Comfortable generating leads from scratch using cold outreach, referrals, digital tools, and industry networking.
- CRM proficiency and strong organizational skills.
- A proactive mindset and a long-term growth mentality, this is a role where the biggest wins come from persistence and trust-building.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- You consistently build a pipeline of qualified manufacturing prospects.
- You understand our machining capabilities deeply and speak confidently to customers about tolerances, materials, processes, and production requirements.
- You build strategic relationships that turn into long-term recurring business.
- You thrive in a professional environment where you manage complex opportunities over months, not days.
- You are self-driven, disciplined, and focused on measurable results.
Why Join Us
- Work directly with a fast-growing machining company known for competitive pricing, exceptional quality, and strong customer retention.
- Your efforts have direct impact, when you win, the whole company wins.
- Aggressive commission structure with unlimited upside.
- Supportive leadership, hands-on training, and a culture built for growth.
- Aggressive Commission structure with stable base salary
