Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Software Test Engineer with strong embedded software testing experience. The role involves working closely with hardware in a simulation environment, executing both automated and manual test plans, and supporting in-vehicle testing when needed. Candidates should have solid scripting skills (Python or object-oriented languages), Android experience, and a strong foundation in software validation. Training will be provided for new hardware and tools. The role requires onsite presence initially, with the possibility of reduced onsite time later.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define test strategy and develop detailed test plans based on the software development roadmap.
  • Design comprehensive test cases aligned with system requirements and test goals.
  • Perform hands-on work with hardware in a vehicle cockpit–like simulation environment.
  • Execute standardized and customized test plans, including manual and automated tests.
  • Run overnight automation scripts and monitor results.
  • Conduct occasional in-vehicle testing as required.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts and other test tools.
  • Set up and configure test benches, hardware, and required environments for test execution and automation.
  • Support continuous improvement of testing methodologies, workflows, and tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of software testing experience, preferably in embedded software.
  • Experience in both manual and automated testing.
  • Strong Python or other object-oriented programming skills.
  • Android experience (system-level, apps, or embedded Android).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware or embedded systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
  • Valid G-level driver's license.

Pay Range : CAD 50-55/hr
