Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Snow Clearing Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient snow removal operations during winter weather conditions. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to problem solve and learn quickly, as well as the ability to operate various equipment effectively. Previous experience in winter work operations is highly preferred

Requirements
- Available to be on call 24/7
- Ability to remain flexible with shift schedules, extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays)
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract, and reliable transportation to and from the contract site
- Previous experience in winter works operations is considered an asset
Duties
- Operate snow plow trucks and other equipment to clear snow and ice from roads, parking lots, and sidewalks.
- Perform routine daily inspections on snow removal equipment before operation, including checking fluid levels and ensuring proper functioning of all mechanical components.
- Utilize hand tools (shovels) and power tools (snowblowers) for additional snow removal tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize snow removal routes and ensure timely service.
- Monitor weather conditions and remain available during snow forecasts
- This position requires physical strength and the ability to work outdoors in cold weather conditions and primarily overnight. Previous experience in snow removal or landscaping is preferred
Skills
- Aptitude for working with your hands and working with equipment.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools relevant to snow removal and landscape maintenance.
- Background in construction or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. This position is essential for maintaining safe environments during winter months while also contributing to landscape projects throughout the year. Compensation
- Team members often make $42-$55/hr as we provide a $250 weekly stand-by bonus and pay an hourly rate ranging from $25-$27/hr depending on experience, throughout the entire winter season.

Contract length: 5 months
Pay: $40.00-$55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 44 per week
