At Powerline Plus Ltd., we focus on three main operations, Electrical, Civil Construction and Engineering & Design. Powerline Plus Ltd. provides quality solutions to public utilities, municipalities and developers, as well as to industrial, national and international manufacturing companies across the GTA.

The AZ drivers at Powerline Plus Ltd. are responsible for operating heavy duty trucks to pick up, load, transport, deliver and unload materials at various locations throughout the GTA. AZ drivers participate actively and maintain ongoing relations with Civil Foremen, Civil Supervisors, Civil Project Coordinators and the Civil Construction Manager.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of three years' experience as a heavy truck/ pony pup driver in an urban area
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License class AZ license with clean abstract required
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission required
  • Physically capable of meeting the job requirements; ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds or more, standing for extended periods, sitting for extended periods, kneeling, squatting etc.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in adverse conditions such as: heat exposure, cold temperatures, rain, snow etc.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and drive primarily Poni Pup to transport materials to various job sites throughout the GTA
  • Maintain constant communication with Civil Foremen and Civil Supervisors to ensure timely pick up and delivery of material to various job sites
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections
  • Oversee all aspects of the vehicle including but not limited to: observing and reporting any necessary maintenance and servicing, monitor the condition of equipment and reporting any incidents
  • Follow all laws, rules and regulations as per the Highway Traffic Act and Ministry of Transportation
  • Various laborious duties
