Freeway Truck Repair & Tire Shop Ltd. is a full-service heavy-duty truck and trailer repair facility located in Delta, BC. We provide complete mechanical, fabrication, and autobody services for major fleets and commercial clients across the Lower Mainland.
We are currently seeking a skilled Autobody & Refinishing Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial vehicle body repair and painting, with a commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Position Overview:
The Autobody & Refinishing Technician will be responsible for performing body repairs, surface preparation, priming, painting, and refinishing work on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This position requires precision, craftsmanship, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bodywork repairs on steel, aluminum, and fiberglass truck panels and components.
- Conduct sanding, masking, filling, priming, and painting using HVLP spray systems.
- Mix and match paint colors and finishes according to OEM or customer specifications.
- Repair or replace damaged panels, fenders, bumpers, and other structural components.
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and consistency.
- Coordinate with service writers and other departments to meet repair timelines.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Certification in Autobody & Refinishing (Red Seal preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in truck, bus, or heavy-duty vehicle autobody repair and painting.
- Strong knowledge of HVLP paint systems, surface prep, and refinishing materials.
- Ability to perform minor structural, cosmetic, and fiberglass repairs.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
- Must be reliable, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid BC driver's licence required.
