Position Overview

Strathroy Residence is seeking qualified and dedicated Resident Care Workers (RCWs) to join our team. The RCW is responsible for providing high-quality care and support to residents living with mental health challenges, addictions, and cognitiveimpairments. The successful candidate will ensure the safety, well-being, and dignity of all residents while promoting independence and quality of life in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to residents in accordance with individualized care plans.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and social engagement.
  • Dispense medications and maintain accurate records as per organizational policy.
  • Monitor residents' physical and mental health status, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to supervisory staff.
  • Support residents in developing life skills and achieving care plan goals.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency and crisis situations.
  • Accurately complete required documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and shift logs.
  • Participate in ongoing staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Developmental Services, Social Service Work, Personal Support Work, or a related human services field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, addictions, or cognitive delays (preferred).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
  • Medication administration certification or willingness to complete required training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills.
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check required prior to employment.
