Role Overview
- The Kitchen Helper will assist in basic food preparation, kitchen organization, cleanliness, dishwashing and supporting chefs during busy service times. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone who wants to gain experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food prep such as cutting vegetables, marinating, and portioning
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, floors, and food storage areas
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment as needed
- Receive and store deliveries; label and organize inventory
- Support chefs with assembling orders and plating during peak hours
- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
- Take out kitchen garbage and clean bins regularly
Requirements
- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot, and high-pressure environment
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 25–30 lbs
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and team spirit
- Flexible to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
