Job Overview

We are hiring an Industrial Millwright (433A) to join our team as soon as possible. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in maintenance and repair within a factory environment. Preference will be given to those with a background in the food manufacturing industry. The role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring minimal production downtime while upholding safety and food safety standards.

This is a full-time position offering $30 per hour with an alternating weekly schedule: Week 1 runs from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Week 2 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Additional hours may be required based on production demand.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure consistent equipment operation.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
  • Repair and replace defective parts, bearings, motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Conduct machinery installations, alignments, and adjustments as required.
  • Fabricate and weld components using TIG/MIG processes (experience considered an asset).
  • Work with production and engineering teams to address recurring maintenance issues and improve system reliability.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, records, and documentation.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Follow all workplace safety, food safety, and GMP standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment performance and reducing downtime.
  • Collaborate closely with other maintenance staff and production operators to maintain smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • Valid Industrial Millwright (433A) License.
  • Welding experience (TIG/MIG) considered an asset.
  • About 2 years experience in a factory or manufacturing maintenance role (food industry experience preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, mechanical repair, and fabrication.
  • Solid understanding of preventive maintenance practices and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
