Position Summary – Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator

The Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing inventory control processes, coordinating procurement activities, and ensuring the timely and accurate flow of raw materials, supplies, and maintenance items. This role supports production and operational needs by working closely with vendors, internal departments, and finance to ensure efficiency and accuracy across purchasing and inventory functions.

Reporting to: Operations ManagerKey Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, receipts, and usage.
  • Issue purchase orders (POs) for raw materials, consumables, and maintenance supplies in line with company requirements.
  • Coordinate the receiving process to ensure timely and accurate documentation of incoming goods.
  • Work with Finance to set up and maintain approved vendor accounts.
  • Support vendor communication, follow-ups, and resolution of discrepancies related to deliveries, pricing, or invoicing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and approval processes for all purchasing activities.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement and inventory control.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory status, purchasing activity, and vendor performance.
  • Collaborate with production, operations, and maintenance teams to meet material and supply needs.
  • Provide backup support for Sales Order and Work Order entry when required.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain (manufacturing experience is an asset).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP (D365) or inventory management systems is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and vendor relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Reporting To: Operations Manager

Location: Brantford, Ontario

Fully on site - 8:00am to 4:30pm
