Custodian/Janitor

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across our facilities. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and clients. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of our organization while working in a dynamic team setting. Prior experience in cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Maintain floors through vacuuming, polishing, and stripping as needed.
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper in restrooms and break areas.
• Assist with minor repairs and general facilities maintenance to support the overall functionality of the building.
• Follow safety protocols during all cleaning and maintenance activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Report any damages or safety hazards to management promptly for resolution.
• Perform other building maintenance tasks as assigned by the Building Manager.

Skills

• Proven experience in cleaning or commercial cleaning is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance practices and basic repair skills.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and floor scrubbers efficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality of work.
• Good organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively throughout the shift.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety standards.
• Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and inviting environment within our organization. We value reliability, professionalism, and a proactive approach to facility upkeep.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
