Reports to: Mental Health Director
Status: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

We are currently inviting internal applications for the position of Clinical Team Lead. This is an excellent opportunity for a current staff member with strong clinical skills, leadership ability, and a passion for teamwork and community wellness to step into a key leadership role within our department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality client care and ensure clinical standards, best practices, and guidelines are upheld.
  • Serve as both a clinical leader and therapist within a multidisciplinary team, providing consultation and guidance on complex cases.
  • Provide clinical oversight and support to Psychologists, Clinicians, Behaviorists, Recreation Therapists, and Cultural Support staff.
  • Lead and facilitate clinical meetings, ensuring effective communication of relevant information to team members.
  • Deliver direct clinical services, including assessment, intervention, crisis response, counseling, and therapeutic treatment.
  • Maintain professional autonomy while practicing within the standards of the appropriate licensing and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Mental Health Director, colleagues, and other service providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in research initiatives and continuous quality improvement activities within the department.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Psychology.
  •  Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers or the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
  • Experience:
    • Experience supervising and leading a clinical team.
    • Experience working with children and youth is an asset (training can be provided).
    • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder is an asset.
  • Cultural Knowledge:
    • Ability to speak Mi'kmaq is considered an asset.
    • Knowledge of Traditional Mi'kmaw approaches to health and wellness is highly valued.
