Wellness Centre Program Coordinator

Overall Aim / Position Purpose
The Wellness Centre Program Coordinator is responsible for the effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of Hope & Cope's wellness and psychosocial support programs. The role ensures that all programming delivered at the Wellness Centre is mission-aligned, evidence-informed, and responsive to the needs of individuals affected by cancer. The coordinator supports volunteer engagement, strengthens operational systems, and fosters partnerships to enhance access, quality, and visibility of Hope & Cope services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Program Management and Implementation
- Lead the implementation, management, and evaluation of in-person and hybrid wellness and psychosocial support programs.
- Facilitate the launch and ongoing support of physical activities
- Develop, maintain, and promote the Wellness Centre's calendar of activities and events.
- Coordinate space scheduling, registration, and other client-facing administrative processes in collaboration with the psychosocial and rehabilitation teams.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of Hope & Cope events such as Wellness Centre Open House, Survivorship Day and volunteer recognition initiatives.
Community Engagement and Outreach
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to promote Wellness Centre programs within the Jewish General Hospital and broader community.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with local partners and community organizations to expand program reach and collaboration.
Volunteer Coordination and Support
- Oversee, schedule, and train Wellness Centre volunteers for front desk, registration, and program support.
- Facilitate monthly volunteer meetings and regular debrief sessions to monitor engagement and well-being.
- Ensure volunteers receive appropriate program-specific and onboarding training.
Psychosocial Support and Referrals
- Provide psychosocial support, needs assessment, and referrals for individuals and families coping with cancer.
- Connect clients to internal Hope & Cope resources or external community services as appropriate.
- Ensure that all services align with best practices and Hope & Cope's strategic objectives.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, health sciences, or a related field (Master's degree an asset).
- Applied skills in psychosocial assessment and crisis intervention.
- Experience supporting, coaching, or supervising volunteers.
- Proven success in implementing and sustaining programs for diverse populations.
- Experience facilitating group programs (recreational, educational, or psychosocial support).
- Hands-on clinical or hospital experience considered an asset.
