Manager, Costing and DC Process and Controls
As a Manager, Costing and DC Process and Controls, you will work within a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to balance the Inventory Subledger to General Ledger balances, investigate and audit product costs, and partner with business units to review and resolve process issues.
What you will do:
- In this role, you will work with a variety of business partners, including Distribution Centers, IT, Supply Chain, Data Operations, and Merchant colleagues, to define and resolve business process and system issues that impact our Inventory Subledger and product costs.
- Work closely with Supply Chain and DC Ops to address issues in SAP that impact service levels and the DC P&L.
- Work alongside various IT support teams to identify the root cause and resolve errors reported on the DC inbound inventory error log.
- Develop strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships.
- You will be responsible for balancing the Inventory Subledger to the General Ledger.
- Support the DC Finance team in completing critical period-end tasks such as: preparing and uploading journal entries, reviewing DC Ops' requests for financial adjustments, and processing adjustments on a timely basis.
- Support the Director in working with internal and external auditors.
- Participate in ad hoc and cross-functional projects and initiatives as appropriate.
- Support critical cross-functional tasks.
- Process improvement and automation support.
What you bring:
- Post-secondary education in finance or a related field is required, combined with experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and make judgments, and a sense of urgency are important for success in this role.
- Financial and business acumen applied to our core LCL and SDM businesses, with a good understanding of warehouse systems and supply chain processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, macros, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with SAP. Experience with SQL for data analysis, particularly with SQL Server, Teradata, or GCP databases, would be an asset.
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as SAS Enterprise Guide would be an asset.
- Interpersonal skills and a proven ability to influence business partners.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other departments and build strong working relationships, combined with an approachable disposition.
- Superior analytical skills with the ability to provide accurate business insights.
- A proactive individual with the ability to effectively manage various projects concurrently.
