Dynamics 365 Systems Deployment Engineer

Role Description

The
Dynamics 365 Systems Deployment Engineer
will be expected to handle a diverse range of technical responsibilities that often cross over both technical and functional requirements.  The candidate is experienced with the deployment, configuration and maintenance of Dynamics 365 CE and Dynamics Business Central.

Responsibilities include the deployment of FIELDBOSS to customer environments for upgrades, patches, hotfixes and for new customers.  This role will be responsible for managing the schedules for all deployment requests submitted to the Engineering team. The ideal candidate is well organized and able to work with other departments to ensure deployments are delivered successfully and on-time.  Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for this position.

FIELDBOSS software includes integration between Dynamics 365 CE and Dynamics Business Central.  The successful candidate will need to troubleshoot integration issues when required.  This will require previous experience supporting ERP and CRM systems.

The Systems Engineer will self manage tasks with minimal supervision, work independently and as a task leader, often balancing multiple deadlines concurrently. The Systems Engineer will provide responsive service levels with a professional and friendly attitude.

Objectives

  • Manage all Engineering software deployment and configuration requests.
  • Deploy, configure and upgrade FIELDBOSS for Dynamics 365 CE, Dynamics Business Central and related third party products.
  • Ensure seamless and accurate integration between FIELDBOSS and the ERP system, by installing and troubleshooting TIBCO Scribe integrations.
  • Administer and optimize customer Dynamics 365 environments to support FIELDBOSS and ERP functionality, ensuring data integrity, security, and efficient performance.
  • Work closely with the Support and Consulting Teams to understand the product architecture, contribute insights, and assist in troubleshooting technical and functional challenges.
  • Contribute to the development of automation scripts and tools to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and support the scalability of FIELDBOSS and the ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing integrations and design, build, and develop new integration requirements using TIBCO Scribe and/or SmartConnect.
  • Execute FIELDBOSS and ERP system data migration and upgrade tasks, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to predefined mapping.
  • Configure development, testing, and production environments to mirror client setup for accurate testing and deployment.
  • Participate in testing activities, ensuring reliability and quality of FIELDBOSS, the ERP system, and related products.
  • Provide technical support to internal, and if applicable, external clients.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for systems and processes to aid in knowledge transfer and help maintain a clear understanding of the technology landscape.
  • Serve as a contingency support for Azure-related tasks.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and technologies relevant to FIELDBOSS.

Measurement

  • Problem resolution time.
  • Measure the time it takes identify and resolve technical issues that reflects the efficiency and problem solving.
  • Integration Uptime and Reliability
  • Monitor the overall uptime and reliability of the integration systems and infrastructure.  High availability indicates effective maintenance and proactive resolution.
  • Successful deployments and upgrades
  • Track the success rate of deployments.  Successful deployments with minimal disruptions indicate effective planning and execution.
  • Client satisfaction
  • Gather feedback from clients or end-users or colleagues.  High client satisfaction indicates effective communication and problem resolution.
  • Incident response time
  • Measure the time it takes to response and address incidents.  Quick response times contribute to minimizing downtime.
  • Documentation accuracy and completeness
  • Review the accuracy and completeness of documentation.  Well-documented processes and configurations contribute to efficient knowledge transfer and troubleshooting.
  • Efficiency metrics
  • Track efficiency metrics such as task completion time, resource utilization, and error rates.  Improved efficiency indicates effective time management and optimization of resources.
