The Thales Ottawa office has been a major supplier and long-term trusted partner to DND, enabling the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Coast Guard to achieve mission success.This is for a Full time role in Ottawa, ON Canada.Position SummaryThales Canada, Defence & Security is engaged in supporting the Canadian Army's Land Command, Control, Communications & Computers (C4) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (LC4ISR) systems which enable critical decisions on a daily basis. Together with industry partners, Thales is building on the existing networks and applications to enhance digitized operations, support communications between joint and allied forces, and monitor and defend against the threats and evolving capabilities of potential adversaries.Thales Canada is looking for people interested in directly contributing to the evolution of advanced digitized operations for the Canadian Army into the future. The successful candidate will lead application development for a software product on the LC4ISR project. The primary focus of the successful candidate is expected to be as a Product Owner, however the successful candidate must also be capable of working effectively on any aspect of the Software Development lifecycle, such as requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation (including peer reviews), developer integration & testing, and verification & validation, and be capable of taking on a Scrum Master role should the need arise.Regulatory Compliance Requirements:Ability to obtain a NATO Secret security clearanceAbility to meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration Program (including ITAR-controlled articles)Special Position RequirementsSchedule: Full time, in line with Thales Canada core hoursPhysical Environment: Office / Desk work: > 90%, with a possibility of some lab or field workTravel: Travel may be required and/or daily travel within greater Ottawa region, < 10%Key Areas of Responsibility The successful candidate will be the Product Owner on a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) project with the Canadian Army. The specific duties associated with the project role could include:Estimate and decompose system and subsystem work into manageable tasks;STANAG 4586 ED4 Test Automation:Lead test automation development for the STANAG 4586 ED4 (Standard Interfaces of UAV Control System for NATO UAV Interoperability). This includes creating the high level automation plan, selecting and reviewing the standard and implementation guide, and selecting the test development priority;Maintain the test environment infrastructure in the virtualized environment and in a physical lab space.
