Job Overview

Mamayo's Cuisine is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation and ensure the kitchen operates smoothly. This role is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the food service industry while contributing to a dynamic kitchen environment.

Duties

  • Assist cooks and chefs with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
  • Follow food safety and handling guidelines to ensure all food is prepared safely and hygienically.
  • Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager.
  • Support the cooking staff during service by ensuring all necessary tools and ingredients are readily available.
  • Participate in cleaning tasks at the end of shifts to maintain a safe and tidy work environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling and safety practices in accordance with industry standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • A passion for cooking and interest in developing culinary skills is a plus.
