Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of our synagogue building. This position also requires oversight of our rental file. This role is vital in ensuring that all facility systems operate smoothly, safely, and in compliance with local standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop prospects and manage outside rentals of Facility.
  • Manage and coordinate custodial services,
  • Stock cleaning and seasonal (salt/sand) supplies,
  • Ensure weekly recycling and every-2-weeks refuse disposal,
  • Liaise with PTBO Clinic re: snow clearance, parking passes, grass cutting, city inspection reports, etc.
  • Plan for maintenance and repair items with the Supervisor, and maintain records there of
  • Schedule and keep record of regular maintenance requirements of building equipment, other systems, and (city mandated) oversight as required,
  • Tend to minor building maintenance issues as they arise,
  • Work with the Supervisor to ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety directives, fire inspections, reports, related equipment, etc,
  • Work with the Joint Safety & Security Committee in the regulation of access to the building according to Access Policy, specifically:
  • provide physical keys, parking passes and lockbox codes as directed by senior staff/volunteers
  • keep an inventory of the above

Requirements

  • Previous experience a facility manager
  • Some familiarity with building systems
  • Strong commuinication skills and proven ability to work with others
  • Problem solving skills
  • Comfort and Familiarity with Google Drive (Google Docs, Google Sheets).

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 8 per week
