On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for an IT Technician - Level 1 for a 3 month contract role. This position is an onsite position at our client's Toronto, Ontario office.

IT Technician - Level 1 - Job Description:
This role involves supporting the deployment and setup of computer equipment. The IT Technician will ensure that workstations are fully equipped and updated, and will assist with hardware recycling and preparation for new hires.

IT Technician - Level 1 - Responsibilities:

  • Help to deploy/setup computer equipment
  • Ensure desks are equipped with standard configuration
  • Update firmware or software installation for monitors, keyboards/mouse as needed
  • Sort and wipe data from old hardware for recycling
  • Prepare new hardware for new hires
  • Respond to users' technical inquiries about hardware, software, and network issues
  • Perform minor repairs and installations of hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
  • Log support tickets, document call activity, and maintain records of IT infrastructure
  • Recognize complex problems and escalate them to higher-level support
  • Provide basic end-user training on hardware and software
  • Roll out new Dell laptops and iPhones and few Desktops
  • Setup on Intune, do the exchange (old machine in, new machine out)
  • Unbox and setup the new systems
  • Verify the system is up to date with the latest version
  • Make an inventory of old devices that are out of warranty, wipe them if necessary, and recycle them

IT Technician - Level 1 - Mandatory Skills:

  • 3 years of IT support
  • Intune experience
  • Experience with ticketing systems
  • Laptop/PC setup and updating
  • Hardware installs

IT Technician - Level 1 – Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Certification

IT Technician - Level 1 – Assignment Length:
This is a 3 month contract position.
