What You'll need to know

  • Be knowledgeable regarding allergy policies and procedures to ensure that guests are not at risk of an allergic reaction
  • Work each shift with a safety mindset. Be proactive in regards to back of the house safety(food safety, potential hazards for employees or guests)

Key Responsibilities

  • Must have experience in cooking meat and fish, understanding temperatures of protein
  • Must have experience in cooking pasta, understanding proper cook of pasta and executing flavourful pasta dishes
  • Follow all recipes of Executive Chef. diligently
  • Execute dishes with accuracy, speed, and detail; emphasis on presentation and garnishing
  • Must prep (chopping, peeling, cutting) and stock cooking station with all the necessary ingredients and equipment before leaving your shift.
  • Monitor stock and log shortages
  • Keep a clean work station, including equipment and utensils; understand and abide by health & safety standards and Food safe requirements

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 3 year experience
  • Food Handling and Health & Safety Training
  • Skilled in various cooking methods; grilling, frying, sauteing, chopping, preparing, strong knife skills and workable knowledge of kitchen equipment.
  • Understanding of standard measurements and portions
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Demonstrate professionalism (communication, mannerisms, dedication, punctuality)
  • A team player, Excellent in a team environment
  • Must be able to lift moderate amounts of weight
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work some weekends

Experience:

  • Culinary: 3 year (preferred)
  • Cooking: 3 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
