Position Summary

As a Lot Attendant at CanaDream, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the appearance and organization of our lot. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that our lot is neat, clean, and tidy, creating a welcoming environment for our customers. Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Providing General Shop Help: Assisting with various tasks around the shop to support overall operations. This includes helping with maintenance, repairs, and other duties as needed.
  • Assisting RV and PDI Technicians: Working closely with RV and Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) technicians to assist with their tasks. This may involve handing tools, holding parts in place, or performing minor repairs under supervision.
  • Vehicle Handling: Drive vehicles to and from storage lots and mechanical shops, refuel RVs at local gas stations, and position vehicles on the lot for colleagues and guests.
  • Picking Up Parts from Suppliers: Collecting necessary parts and supplies from local suppliers to ensure that the shop is well-stocked and that technicians have the materials they need to complete their work efficiently.
  • Cleaning and Maintaining the Shop: Keeping the shop clean and organized by putting away tools, sweeping the floor, and ensuring that workspaces are tidy. This helps maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Maintaining a Safety-Conscious Attitude: Prioritizing safety in all tasks and responsibilities. This includes following all safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and being vigilant about potential hazards. Must ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe manner to protect themselves, other crew members, and the guests.
  • Embracing CanaDream's Brand Voice and Best Practices: Adhering to CanaDream's standards and guidelines to ensure consistency in service and operations. This includes following established procedures and representing the brand positively.
  • Working with Crew /Tribe Members: Collaborating with fellow team members to enhance the overall experience for guests and customers. This involves effective communication, teamwork, and a commitment to providing excellent service.
  • Reporting Needed Repairs: Promptly reporting any identified repairs or maintenance issues to the RV or PDI technicians or the immediate supervisor. This ensures that problems are addressed quickly and efficiently.
  • Performing Other Tasks as Required: Taking on additional duties as needed to support the shop and the team. This may include a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall success of the operation.

Skill Set, Education, and Experience

  • Valid Driver's License and Clean Driver's Abstract: Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract. Additionally, they should be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet the demands of the role.
  • Self-Directed and Motivated: The ideal candidate is self-directed, motivated, and proactive, taking initiative to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. They are fiercely accountable, ensuring that responsibilities are met with a high level of commitment.
  • Experience: Having 1-2 years of experience as a lot attendant is an asset. This experience helps in understanding the nuances of the role and performing tasks with confidence.
  • Learning and Attention to Detail: A strong willingness to learn and an exceptional attention to detail are crucial. The candidate should be eager to acquire new skills and ensure accuracy in all tasks.
  • Positive Interpersonal Skills: The candidate should possess positive interpersonal skills, maintaining a friendly and professional attitude and energy when interacting with colleagues and customers.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as the role may require multitasking and adjusting to varying demands and schedules.
  • Teamwork and Independence: The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is important. The candidate should be comfortable taking initiative on their own while also collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Familiarity with RVs: Familiarity with B and C Class RVs is an asset. This knowledge can help in efficiently handling and organizing the vehicles, as well as assisting customers with their inquiries

Working Conditions 

  • Seasonal or Permanent: Position is seasonal, with employment during specific times of the year.
  • Indoor and Outdoor Work: Lot attendants often work both indoors and outdoors, depending on the tasks at hand. This means they need to be prepared to work in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold.
  • Physical Demands: The job can be physically demanding, requiring standing, walking, and moving around the lot for extended periods. Lot attendants may also need to lift and carry objects, such as cleaning supplies or vehicle parts, which can weigh up to a certain limit.
  • Exposure to Weather Conditions: Since a significant portion of the work is done outdoors, lot attendants are exposed to different weather conditions. They need to dress appropriately for the weather and be able to perform their duties regardless of the conditions.
  • Safety and Security: Lot attendants are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the lot. This includes monitoring for any suspicious activities, ensuring vehicles are locked and secure, and reporting any issues to management.
  • Customer Interaction: Lot attendants often interact with customers, aiding with locating vehicles, answering inquiries, and offering excellent customer service. This requires good communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Routine Maintenance: The role may involve performing minor maintenance tasks on vehicles, such as washing, checking tire pressure, and topping up fluids. Attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures are important for these tasks.
