Senior Manager, Canadian and International Taxes

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Vice President, Taxation, within the company's Finance team, the Senior Manager, Canadian and International Tax, will provide guidance on income tax matters, primarily from a Canadian perspective, while also contributing to international assignments.

• Act as an advisor to internal clients by helping them make informed tax decisions after analyzing tax considerations
• Develop and support junior team members
• Collaborate with various business units, functional groups, and external advisors. Analyze business matters, achieve objectives, and work with team members to execute strategies and planning
• Assist in the preparation and review of corporate income tax returns for Canadian entities
• Prepare, review, or assist with any other forms and calculations required for a group with international scope, such as T1134 forms, tax pool calculations, CbCR, and Pillar 2
• Compile and analyze information required for federal and provincial income tax compliance
• Research, assess, communicate, and provide guidance on the implications of emerging tax issues, and identify areas that may create or increase tax risks. Participate in representations with various tax authorities, when applicable
• Conduct tax research on various topics related to Canadian and international income tax
• Contribute to identifying and mitigating tax risks
• Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions
• Assist in coordinating tax authority audits
• Collaborate on any other related projects

What You'll Need
We want you to join our team Here's what we're looking for:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA) or any other relevant qualification
• Completed the "In-Depth Tax Course" or hold a Master's degree in Taxation

Experience:

• Minimum of seven to eight (7–8) years of relevant experience

Knowledge and skills:

• Strong tax accounting skills and good knowledge of IFRS accounting standards related to income tax
• Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, autonomy, accuracy, commitment, and strong analytical and business acumen
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex tax matters for management and cross-functional colleagues
• Good ability to manage priorities while meeting deadlines
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Strong proficiency in office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Power BI and Power Automate is a plus
• Strong skills in software for preparing tax returns and tax forms, such as Taxprep T2 and Taxprep Forms

Language skills:

• Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written, as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks outlined above. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.
