About us

34 Pilates Lab is a new Classical Pilates studio opening in early 2026 in North York.

Founded by Ashlee Kim, instructor and owner of 9Movement Lab,

the studio is fully equipped with Gratz apparatus and designed for authentic small-group training (maximum 5 clients per class).

We are currently building our founding instructor team — a small group of teachers who value precision, control, and the true essence of Pilates.

What we're looking for

  • Certified Pilates Instructor (Comprehensive or Mat/Reformer)
  • Strong understanding of alignment, flow, and cueing
  • Passion for teaching and continuous learning
  • Positive, collaborative attitude
  • Experience with small-group instruction preferred
  • Classical background is a plus, but not required

What we offer

  • A fully equipped Gratz studio (classical apparatus)

Compensation

$35–$45/hour to start (contract-based)

Rates increase with teaching experience, and role within the studio.

Senior or mentor instructors may earn up to $50/hour after onboarding and observed sessions.

January 2026

(Training and onboarding will begin in December 2025)

Contract type

All positions begin as part-time, contract-based roles (initial 6-month term to ensure a good mutual fit, with renewal opportunities thereafter).

This means you'll join as an independent contractor — not an employee — invoicing per class taught.

The 6-month term is simply a starting period for both the studio and instructor to get to know each other, and successful instructors can continue long-term.
