We are seeking
FIVE

Stabilization Centre Support Workers

to provide 24/7, hands-on, culturally grounded support to clients at the 10-bed Centre. The Support Worker helps create a safe, structured, and welcoming environment that is trauma-informed and recovery-oriented, honouring ceremony, language, and land-based healing while walking alongside clients in early recovery.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Stabilization Centre Manager, the Support Worker provides compassionate, hands-on care to clients on their healing journey. Guided by nehiyaw values, the role supports daily routines, wellness, and participation in cultural and land-based activities. The Support Worker helps maintain a safe and respectful environment, assists with life skills, and responds to emergencies using trauma-informed and culturally grounded approaches. They observe and document client well-being, communicate changes promptly to the care team, and work closely with Elders, counsellors, and other staff to support balance, dignity, and recovery.

: You are a steady, compassionate helper who brings calm, clear communication, and cultural humility to every interaction. You value teamwork, follow-through, and respectful boundaries, and you're committed to learning and wellness.

You bring:


•  Certificate/diploma in Social Work, Addictions, Mental Health, Human Services, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.


• Experience in addictions recovery, mental health, community support, or residential programs.


• Experience working with First Nations/Indigenous communities.


• Knowledge of trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and recovery-oriented practice; familiarity with nehiyaw ceremony and protocols.


• Clear verbal and written communication; accurate observation and documentation; basic computer skills for email, logs, and templates.


•Strong interpersonal skills; calm de-escalation; ability to organize tasks in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.

Conditions of Employment:


• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.


• Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check.


• Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.


• Adherence to kakisiwew-ochapowace HR policies, Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, OCAP principles, and substance-use policies.


• Must successfully complete drug and alcohol testing prior to employment and comply with Nation substance use policies.


• Obtain within 30 days if not current: First Aid/CPR, naloxone, and NVCI/CPI (or equivalent).
