Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Framer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building structures and the ability to work with various materials. As a Framer, you will be responsible for constructing frameworks for buildings, ensuring that all work is completed to high standards of quality and safety. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and proficiency in using hand tools and heavy equipment.

Duties

  • Measure, cut, and shape lightweight steel components for framing and structural work.
  • Assemble and join steel sections to form frames for walls, ceilings, and partitions.
  • Install metal stud framing and furring systems for both interior and exterior walls.
  • Secure metal tracks to building frameworks using nails, screws, or wire ties.
  • Construct floor and ceiling frames by cutting and fastening metal channels according to layout plans.
  • Fit and fasten boards (e.g., drywall) into position using screws or other fasteners as required.
  • Install bulkheads and ceilings based on technical drawings and project specifications.
  • Use hand and power tools, including straightedges, levels, and ladders, for daily construction tasks.
  • Accurately measure and mark metal framing using chalk lines or laser levels to ensure precision.
  • Cut metal studs and runners to exact dimensions, minimizing material waste and ensuring structural accuracy.

Experience

  • Proven work experience in the Construction industry as a Metal Stud Framer.
  • Familiarity with various hand and power tools like pneumatic guns, straightedges, screw guns and measuring tapes
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematic interpretation is essential.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Proficiency in using hand tools commonly used in construction projects.
