In accordance with article 6.2.2 of the Contract Faculty Collective Agreement, applications are invited for the following courses, to be offered during the following sessions:

Winter 2026

EDU 138/02 Foundations of the Teaching Profession (Elementary)

Mondays & Wednesdays 13:00-14:29 In-person

In this course students will explore and make use of current research on the teaching, learning and evaluation processes. Students will also learn how to apply education policy and curriculum program documents in their planning and teaching. Students will continue the identification process with the teaching profession begun in their first field placement.

EDU 231 Kindergarten II: Theory and Pedagogy

Wednesdays 11:30-14:29 In-person

Kindergarten marks a significant period in young learners' lives. This course introduces students to the theoretical and applied aspects of kindergarten education for 4 and 5 year olds. With particular attention given to the Preschool Cycle Program, students will examine the theories that inform early learning curricula, develop appropriate and stimulating learning environments for young learners, explore play-based education, and examine social-justice- oriented pedagogy in the context of early education. In this course, students will be expected to reflect critically on teaching and learning with young children.

These courses will be allotted in accordance with the Contract Faculty Collective Agreement, including the applicable rules for seniority.

Contract faculty members who have seniority points may simply submit a letter of interest via e-mail. Other candidates should submit full applications by e-mail (covering letter, curriculum vitae, and any other materials required to demonstrate that they have the necessary expertise to teach the course) to Dr. Dawn Wiseman (she/her) (she/her) with a cc to Liane Jones Anderson (she/her), by Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 5pm.

Remuneration is $9560.92, with travel and marking expenses provided where appropriate.
