Our productions tour theatres across Canada and the U.S., bringing audiences unforgettable live music experiences.
Position Overview:
We're seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media & Marketing Assistant to join our team in a permanent part-time capacity. The ideal candidate is passionate about live music and digital storytelling, has a strong eye for design, and is comfortable creating on-brand social graphics.
This role combines hands-on social media management, light graphic design, and ongoing marketing support for our touring productions. You'll help manage multiple accounts while contributing to consistent and effective promotion of upcoming shows.
Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Management
- Plan and execute social media calendars for multiple touring productions (announcements, promos, seasonal campaigns).
- Create and publish engaging copy, reels, and graphics across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Design simple, on-brand digital assets using Canva (social tiles, stories, reels covers, promo graphics).
- Coordinate with creative and production teams to gather assets and maintain consistent brand messaging.
- Engage with fans, venues, and media partners to boost visibility and grow community engagement.
- Maintain organized content systems using and shared folders.
- Stay current on social media trends and contribute fresh creative ideas.
Marketing Assistant Support
- Research, catalogue, and post events to community calendars and Facebook Groups at launch + leading up to show dates.
- Post updates and announcements on the company Facebook page and MCP website.
- Support short-term promotional efforts for events happening within the next 3–4 weeks.
- Regularly review internal and external ticket links to ensure functionality.
- Assist with market research and basic community outreach.
- Follow up with advertising reps to gather analytics, reports, and tear sheets post-campaign.
- Liaise with venues and social media partners to ensure tagged or collaborative posts are accepted and shared.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience managing social media for a brand, artist, company, or venue.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills with attention to tone and detail.
- Experience creating short-form video content (Reels/TikToks).
- Basic graphic design ability, especially using Canva for social media content.
- Comfortable with basic marketing tasks, website updates, and event listings.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple accounts and deadlines independently.
