About the Role

We are looking for a Head of Technology Potash, based in Saskatoon, Canada. The purpose of this role is to provide provides strategic and operational leadership in technology management to ensure business continuity, resilience, and digital evolution. The role ensures that technology solutions align with corporate objectives, comply with global standards, and deliver sustainable value. This role reports to the Vice President Technology, Minerals Americas

Key Accountabilities:

  • Safety - meet statutory and organizational health, safety, environment and sustainability requirements 
  • Ensures strategic relationships with Asset and Functional Teams building strategic cross-functional business processes to support the effective execution of service delivery
  • Ensuring that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are in place and applied
  • Maintain stability and performance of critical Min America systems
  • Technology health monitoring, incident and event management  delivering effective and timely responses to service requests, resolves incidents/problems
  • Accountability for Maintenance strategy and execution
  • Continuous improvement to eliminate defects, maximize Mean Time Between Failures and Minimize Mean Time to Restore
  • Asset Integrity including Life-cycle management and Blueprint Integrity

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 10 years of senior leadership engaging and managing a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders including third-party vendors.
  • Relevant undergraduate qualifications in a technical discipline, preferably Engineering or Technology/IT.
  • Strong Safety Leadership culture in the Mining, Resource or Manufacturing Industries.
  • Strategy and Governance: Define and execute the technology roadmap aligned with corporate strategy; ensure compliance with standards, policies and architecture frameworks.
  • Operational Continuity: Guarantee availability of critical systems; oversee incidents, problems, and changes to minimize business impact.
  • Digital Transformation: Drive automation, advanced analytics, and AI; evaluate new technologies to improve productivity and safety.
  • Talent Development: Build diverse, high-performing teams; foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Escalate critical decisions related to operational and cybersecurity risks
  • Define technology priorities and resource allocation
  • Demonstrates understanding of BHP Operating System (BOS) including problem solving, performance and financial
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong strategic relationships with Asset and Functional Teams in order to meet business objectives, manage expectations and ensure value delivery.
  • Strong communication skills including advanced English
