Program Description
The Semi-Independent Living Program (SILP) provides trauma-informed, culturally grounded, and harm-reductive housing for youth aged 16–21 who are transitioning from Ministry of Social Services (MSS) care toward independent adulthood.
SILP operates within YWCA's continuum of care—bridging shelter, housing, and youth development—and is integrated with the Homebase Youth Hub and Community Support Hub at the kikaskihtânaw Centre.
The program prioritizes relational accountability, youth voice, and cultural connection as key components of stability and success.
