We're Hiring
We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Pack Lines Maintenance Manager in our Production Department at our Leamington ON facility.
What You'll Do:
- Regular review of work orders, prioritizing, and delegating them according to urgency; and closing orders when work has been completed and approved.
- Schedule/Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on all production assets to ensure minimal downtime.
- Plans, delegates, and leads their team to improve performance, productivity, and standards of quality through motivation and encouragement.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors and suppliers, keeping current with new industry developments, and collaborating thoughts and ideas with Senior Management.
- Continuous follow up with vendors and suppliers on delivery dates of purchased equipment and collaborate with all Nature Fresh departments to ensure the successful and timely install of equipment.
- Develop and maintain a min/max inventory list of required critical spare parts to reduce production down time.
- Collaborate with all relevant departments when new packaging designs and styles are implemented, to ensure pack line equipment is adjusted/retrofitted accordingly.
- Provide timely support for emergency or unscheduled repairs during production.
- Understand and troubleshoot all technical components of label application, weighing and sorting software. Working closely with external vendors and suppliers to ensure equipment software and hardware components are kept up to date.
- Coordinate repairs and installation of equipment at multiple warehouse locations including supporting US pack line installations and major maintenance repairs
- Support the install, setup and maintenance of greenhouse production requirements as needed seasonally, including but not limited to the set up of soil filling conveyors and hoppers, and container washing equipment.
- Build and maintain succession growth goals within your department, to support business continuity and future growth.
- Identify areas that need improvement.
- Develop plans to increase production and decrease costs.
- Handling troubleshooting and repair work of packing lines & Downstream Equipment.
- Take a proactive approach to ensuring the smooth operation of packing lines & Downstream equipment.
- Effectively collaborates and communicates with Production Management and other Departmental Managers to provide details, training, updates, resolve issues, etc. on operational issues/concerns and upcoming or ongoing projects.
- Coordinate in person meetings with the team to communicate changes/updates, policies/procedures, and appropriately address any questions and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide appropriate training to managers, supervisors, and equipment operators, on production equipment, thereby reducing operational downtime and unnecessary work orders. This includes, but is not limited to practical training, creating simple to follow operational handbooks and continuous communication with team members.
- Stay actively involved in your teams training and consistent follow-up to ensure all work is done efficiently and correctly. Training and development are required on a continual basis.
- Participates in Employee Relations and works collaboratively with Director of Farm Operations and HR for progressive discipline, coaching/discussions, performance reviews and investigations.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and reporting of team's expectations, goals, and objectives. Provide compensation recommendations to your reporting manager.
- Manage employee time off requests, work schedules and approve weekly employee hours
- Collaborate and work closely with all departments including Human Resources, IT, Quality, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Warehouse production management.
- Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.

What You Bring:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in a professional work environment.
- Must be safety conscientious and be able to keep work areas clean and organized while ensuring health and safety and food safety protocols are adhered to.
- Managerial skillset to lead a team of 3-4 individuals.
- Must have a proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills required to analyze/solve problems and any unforeseen complications that could arise.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors, suppliers, and all Nature Fresh Departments.
- Have a good understanding of software applications pertaining to all production assets
- Proficiently navigate and utilize Microsoft programs.
- Must be hands-on and process oriented, always looking to improve and create efficiencies.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment by multitasking and prioritizing work while being attentive to details.
- Ability to embrace and adapt to the rapid growth, innovation, and development of the company.
- Valid drivers license required, and use of personal vehicle are required.
- Working with and communicating with a diverse group of people, including temporary foreign workers.
- Confidentiality regarding company-related matters and advancements.
- Understanding and speaking Spanish is considered an asset.
What To Expect:
- Hours of operation are Monday-Friday with after hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Occasional Sundays and holidays based on scheduling.
- Hours may fluctuate according to business needs.
- On-call requirement as per departmental schedule.
- Hot, cold, humid, wet conditions depending on time of year and production location.
- Travel between all production locations required.
- There may be an occasional need for heavy lifting.
- Balance between sitting, standing, and walking.
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
