Position Overview
The Project Coordinator- Miscellaneous Metals will support the successful execution of miscellaneous steel projects, including stairs, railings, ladders, canopies, platforms, and related architectural and structural elements. This role is pivotal in bridging engineering, detailing, fabrication, and site operations, ensuring seamless coordination and timely delivery. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator and skilled problem-solver, adept at managing complex workflows and collaborating across geographically dispersed teams—including internal departments in Canada and detailing/engineering teams globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor miscellaneous steel projects from design through fabrication and installation.
- Review drawings, submittals, and RFIs to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with client requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (estimating, detailing, project management, fabrication, erection) to ensure smooth project flow.
- Track schedules, deliverables, and changes to ensure deadlines are met and risks are mitigated.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams on project updates, changes, and approvals.
- Assist project managers in preparing documentation, reports, and project status updates.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure materials and components for miscellaneous items are sourced and delivered on time.
- Monitor fabrication and site installation progress, ensuring work complies with specifications and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance workflows and collaboration between Canadian and offshore teams.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to HSE Coordinators, ensuring consistency and alignment in the delivery of HSE programs across manufacturing operations.
- Report directly to the Director
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
- 2–3 years of project coordination or project engineering experience in
Miscellaneous Metals
or
Structural Steel
industry - Strong knowledge of miscellaneous steel components (e.g., stairs, railings, canopies, ladders, etc.) and their fabrication and installation processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, architectural drawings, shop drawings
,
and steel detailing. - Working knowledge of
MS Office Suite
,
Bluebeam
, and project tracking tools; experience with
Tekla
,
AutoCAD
, or
Revit
is a strong asset. - Understanding of
fabrication workflows
,
material specifications
, and
erection sequencing
. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Strong
organizational

abilities; able to manage multiple concurrent priorities under tight deadlines. - A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Experience working with
international/offshore teams
and navigating cross-cultural communication is an asset. - Knowledge of
construction safety standards
and experience supporting HSE initiatives is preferred. - PMP certification or coursework toward PMP/designation is considered an asset.
Location, Hours of Work & Working Conditions

: Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am to 3:00pm
